Vedi Temple

Situated within the premises of Kumbhalgarh Fort in Hanuman Pol in Kumbhalgarh, Vedi Temple is a revered Jain temple that is presided over by the local deity- Goddess Vedi. Built-in an octagonal shape, the temple stands on 36 pillars and was built by Rana Kumbha in honor of the sacrifice of the pilgrims. Later, it was renovated by Maharana Fateh Singh.

It is also the only sacrificial site present in the country. Maintained and protected by the Archaeological Survey of India, the temple is revered with positivity and divinity and is also one of the most visited attractions in the region.

History of Vedi Temple

The Jain temple dates back to 1457 AD, built between 1443 to 1448. The shrine was constructed by Rana Kumbha to honor the sacrifice of pilgrims visiting the area. Certain sections of the structure were renovated by Maharana Fateh Singh. It is of immense significance, as it remains to be the sole pilgrim sacrificial site present in India.

The double-storied temple is open to all and engulfs you in an envelope of positivity and goodness. Besides this temple. It is recognized, protected, and maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. There are more temples built at the foothills of the fort.
