Jaisamand Lake
Dating back to the year 1685, the photogenic Jaisamand Lake was built under the reign of Maharana Jai Singh. Extending up to a whopping area of around 36 sq km, the Jaisamand Lake makes for the country’s second-largest man-made lake and one of the best architecture Rajasthan lakes.
The embankment of the lake is beautifully adorned with alluring cenotaphs featuring intricate carvings. Known locally as ‘Dhebar Lake’, this lake features 3 charming islands, all of which are occupied by the Bhil Minas tribe. While the smallest island is called Piari, the two larger ones are known as Baba ka Magra. Boat-riding facilities are also available for visitors at Jaisamand Lake.
