History of Laxmi Niwas Palace
Maharaja Ganga Singh, the ruler of Bikaner during the 1900s, built this palace for his residential purposes. The palace was built following the architectural style of Indo-Saracenic. The palace was designed by renowned British architect, Col. Samuel Swinton Jacob. The palace was built to provide a means of livelihood to the common people of Bikaner and a glorious residence for the royal family.
