Tera Manzil Temple, Uttarakhand
Trimbakeshwar Temple or Tera Manzil Temple is the thirteen storey temple situated on the banks of the river Ganges in Rishikesh. Located right opposite the Lakshman Jhula, the temple enshrines several deities under one roof. Popular for its striking architecture, the temple also offers a panoramic landscape view from the top of its 13th floor.
History
Located at Lakshman Jhula, Tera Manzil Temple or Trayambakeshwar is one of the important holy shrines in Rishikesh. The temple was founded by Adi Guru Shankaracharya in the 12th century. The temple is a 13-storied building with different Hindu deities inside. Mainly the shrine is considered as the abode of Lord Shiva as the name Trayambakeshwar means the same, ‘The Abode Of Three-Eyed’. The temple is believed to be one among the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Many sections in the temple comprise Vedic and religious works and shops. They tempt the devotees to buy souvenirs and gift items. One can enjoy very good views from the top of the temple.
