Shamirpet Deer Park
Shamirpet Deer Park is one of the beautiful picnic spots located on the outskirts of the city of Hyderabad. The park was built in 1971 during the rule of Nizams. The park is spread over a vast area of 54 acres and is home to a wide array of animals.
It has many species of deer which can be seen in their natural habitat. Blackbuck and Chital Deer are the main wildlife attractions. There is also the famous Shamirpet Lake located in the proximity of the park which is the lifeline for many animals and bird species of that area.
The park is popularly known as the Jawahar Deer Park is maintained by the government of Telangana. Frequent Visitors to the park include people of all ages pertaining to their interest in botanical aspects of nature. Although the park is popularly known for its flora and fauna, it doesn’t stay behind in attracting the young crowd by providing various adventure activities like Trekking and bouldering.
