Saleshwaram Lingayya Swamy Temple
Also known as Sarveswaran or Saleshwaram, it is a hidden natural gem that is worth exploring. The ancient Saleshwaram Cave Temple was built around the 6th or 7th century AD. Reference to this ancient temple can be seen in ancient Hindu texts such as Sri Parvatha Purana. The celebrated work, Sri Parvatha Purana, which was written in the 16th century, in its description of Srisailam, also mentions this cave temple. Mention of two theerthams near the temple, namely Sarvesa theertham and Pushkara theertham have also been mentioned.
Another alluring feature of this temple is the mesmerizing waterfall that is located opposite the temple. Twinkling streams of water flowing down a hill of a height of around 200 meters, surrounded by refreshing greenery creates a hypnotic scenic beauty. The significant feature of this temple is – that temple will be open only for 3-5 days during Chaitra Purnima or the Full Moon Day in April.
‘Lingamaiah Jathara’, a fair will be organised in Saleshwaram temple once in two years. It attracts thousands of devotees to the temple.
History of Saleshwaram Lingayya Swamy Temple
Saleshwaram Cave Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and located inside a cave of “Tiger Reserve Nallamala Forest” situated around 30km from Mannanur, 60km from Srisailam, Mahbubnagar District, Telangana State. Saleshwaram Temple is one of the famous Trekking spots in Mahbubnagar, Telangana.
The Cave Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and there are two ponds known as Sarvesa theertham and Pushkara theertham. This temple constructed within the narrow cave using bricks and mortar was believed to be built during the 6th and 7th Centuries A.D. The Temple has been mentioned in various Puranas as well.

What is the Best time to visit Saleshwaram Lingayya Swamy Temple?
The best time to visit this temple is on the Chaitra Purnima, which is the full moon day during the Chaitra (March- April) month. This temple is open for devotees only for 3 to 5 days a year. This is during the Chaitra Poornima. Many devotees visit this temple on this auspicious day.
