Saketri Shiva Temple is a Hindu temple located in Panchkula, India. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is from the 500-year-old temple of Lord Shiva in the village of Saketadi near Chandigarh. There are two Shivling in this temple. The specialty is that one Shivling falls at Panchkula and the other falls in Chandigarh.

This ancient temple has a cave under the Shivling. Milk is put here in the stem. The snake, which is considered to be another form of Lord Shiva, drinks milk. According to the temple priests, people who visited here 50 to 60 years ago have seen Shivji drinking milk in the form of a snake. Some people were scared to see this form of Lord Shiva drinking milk. So, the temple administration started closing its doors at that time.

All the festivals are celebrated in the Saketri Shiva temple, especially special worship organized at the festival of Shivaratri. On this auspicious day of the Lord, thousands of devotees throng the shrine to get His blessings.

History of Saketri Mandir

Saketri Mandir or Shiva Temple is Located in Panchkula, Haryana. The ancient historical Shiva temple at Saketri is just 5 km from Mansa Devi Temple and Located about 20 km from the city of Chandigarh is the Saketri Mandir. This temple's main idol of Lord Shiva, the temple is believed to have existed for 500 years, it has a huge gathering of people on the auspicious day of Shivratri.

Architecture of Saketri Mandir

This temple is unique in construction. Built in white marble the temple has four well-cut cones of equal height with gold-plated domes on the top. Red flags fly across the shrine as well as on the top of these Shikaras. The idol is a Shivling adorned with colorful flowers and has a silver bottom part.

A silver snake form can be seen near the idol. The temple is richly decorated during Shivratri.
