Palace hotel in Chail was constructed by the king of Patiala, Maharaja Bhupinder Singh. When he was banished from Shimla over his affair with the daughter of the British Commander-in-chief, he came to Chail and made this place his summer capital. The Palace Hotel is open to tourists to enjoy a royal stay. It comes with lavish gardens, captivating log huts, royal furniture, and a private orchard. History
The Palace Hotel in Chail was constructed way back in the year 1891 by the Maharaja of Patiala time known as Bhupinder Singh. Later, it was purchased in 1972 by Himachal Tourism after which it was converted into a heritage hotel. Counted in the list of the most well-known heritage hotels in India, this hotel is spread over 75 acres of land in the beautiful hill station of Chail. This palace was his summer palace.
Architecture
Located at an elevation, the palace offers a spectacular view of Shimla.
