Thanzhangathady Juma Masjid is situated in the Kottayam district of Kerala. It has recently been added as a Heritage Zone of the state because of its splendid structure and its historical significance. The mosque lies on the banks of the Meenachil River. The architecture of the mosque is also noteworthy. It has the architecture of traditional Kerala temples, with no domes or minarets. It is mostly made of wood and consists of many engravings and carvings on the pillars and roof. History of Thazhathangady Juma Masjid

The Juma Masjid at Thazhathangadi is considered one of the oldest mosques in India. Malik Ibn Deenar first introduced the Islamic religion in India, starting from Kerala. He began his work as a trader, and later, along with the help of Cheraman Perumal, he began spreading the Islamic faith.

He led a group of men and built a large number of mosques in various parts of Kerala and Karnataka, and Thazhanthangadi Juma Masjid is one of them.

Known for its rich architecture and exquisiteness, Thazhathangady Juma Masjid is a renowned mosque in Kerala.
