Ranchi War Cemetery

The 'Ranchi War Cemetery' is a place built in memory of soldiers who died in the Second World War. It is located at a distance of 6. 6 km from Ranchi Railway Station.

The Ranchi War Cemetery was established on 1 June 1942 by the British Army, which was basically when India was ruled by the British Government. It is one of those tourist spots where often foreigners are seen in large numbers. After the Cemetery was made in 1942 during the Second World War, it was then used till the end of the war.

After the war was settled, many graves were stuck in some isolated positions or small inaccessible areas which were recovered and brought back here to this cemetery in the year 1952. During this time more than 200 graves were transferred to the cemetery from twelve civil cemeteries.

Thus, this place carries lots of brave hearts within. A truly patriotic person would experience the actual proud feeling of being an Indian here. Other than its history, presently this place is very well maintained and is in the process of resolving some issues like children’s playing around here or couples making out and so on, to keep the respectful gut for this place alive.

The Ranchi War Cemetery is an inspiration for the youth of India and the memory of all the soldiers who have laid their lives for our nation. This Cemetery is very well nurtured and each tombstone tells a story about a late soldier, some of which have excellent quotes like "Memory is the only friend That grief can call its own".

There is greenery all around and one can find extreme peace here. It is a lovely place for history lovers and patriots to spend a peaceful time and experience the auspiciousness of the place. People easily spend around 2 hours here.
