Hirni Waterfall
It is another fascinating waterfall with tranquil surroundings; It is situated 70 km from Ranchi on the way to Chakradharpur. Situated amidst dense forests, River Swarnarekha tumbles in wild abandon from a considerable height as a Hirni or wild deer.
The cracks, crevices, and chasms across the mountain ridges or the tall trees that obstruct the general course of the river have split it into several miniature rivulets that restlessly meander their way down. It is however ideal for a day visit, given the dense forests around.
Hirni Fall is situated about 80 km from Ranchi. Hirni is another fascinating waterfall in the charming surroundings. From the car park, a walkway to the left takes visitors to the other side of the river to a tourist hut whereas steps to the right lead up to the top of the hill. From an observation tower at the top one can see the mighty fall and the jungles that lie beyond.
A little further up there's a bridge spanning the river and a shed. The fall is formed by the Ramgarha river which falls here from a height of 37 m in a broad torrent. Its surroundings comprise a dense forest.
