Kotagarh Wildlife Sanctuary
This wildlife sanctuary is situated in the Baliguda subdivisions of the Kandhamal region and is rich in biodiversity. There is a natural life landmass with a broad territory of 399.5 Square km. Kotagarh Wildlife Sanctuary is enriched with a variety of vegetation on the spot. It comprises thick deciduous woodlands with grasslands.
It is home to countless animals and reptiles. Significant species found here are elephant, gaur, sambar, spotted deer, peafowl, red fowl, and many types of reptiles. The thick rich green woodlands with harmony in the lap of nature and the peaceful magnificent beauty of nature are the significant fascination for the visitors.
You can see Wildlife Sanctuary like – tiger, leopard, nilgai, sambar, barking deer, peafowl, wild boar, gaur, four-horned antelope, civet cat, jackal, rattle, sloth bear, pangolin, porcupine, giant squirrel, mongoose, and others.You can see dominant flora like – sal, piasal, sisoo, kendu, gambhari, asan, kusum, harida, bahada, amala, mango, tamarind, mahua, jackfruit, randhan, kangada, jamun, salapo, bheru, arjun, char, dhaura and kochila.
