Konark Beach Festival
The festival belongs purely to the beauty of Konark Sun Temple. People celebrate this festival as a tribute to the ancient beauty of the Konark Temple. Numerous famous classical dancers gather here to be a part of this extravagant celebration, so the celebration is beyond religion and customs. Apart from the monuments, beaches, and delightful sights, the festival is majorly famous for its annual dance festival, which is organized in December and is a major tourist attraction.
Tourists can also visit the Magha Saptami Mela to witness the devotees taking a holy dip and worshipping the sun god. This sight of sacred devotion strikes a resonant chord in the tourist's soul.
During the first five days of December, famous classical dancers from every part of the country arrive at Konark Beach to pay their tributes to the Sun God in the Sun temple, which is one of a kind. An Odissi Guru, in association with the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC) at the Konark Natya Mandap, organised The Konark Beach Festival.
Known as the Natyamandir, this 700-year hall is an architectural masterpiece. Respecting its rich heritage and culture, the structure is furnished with different Odissi sculptures posing in different dance forms.
