A well-maintained park located at the seaside in Pondicherry is Children's Park. This is one of the perfect places in the city to spend some leisure time with friends and family. Plenty of benches and walkways along with opulent greenery dot this place. The park also has a play area for kids where you can see children playing.

Though the park does not cover a large space, yet, it is one of the important tourist places in Pondicherry. Along with that, the park also houses an effigy of Joseph Francois Dupleix which is the main attraction of this place. From 1742 to 1754, Joseph Francois Dupleix was the governor of Pondicherry. The statue is located at the southern end of the park on Goubert Avenue. The total height of the statue is 2.88 m.

However, the origin of this popular statue dates back to 1870 by the French Government recognized him for his work. The late governor played a significant part in establishing French rule in India. As a result of that, another statue was also installed in France. Because of its hype, the statue of Dupleix serves as a separate tourist attraction in Pondicherry which is visited by numerous tourists, both locals and internationals.
