If anyone is in search of complete relaxation and serenity, then certainly Venu Vana is the place that enriches one’s mind with the freshness of nature and cultivation of historical spiritualism, and one can feel the peace of nature and its beauty.

The specialty of the park is that it comprises the Buddhist Monastery which Bimbisara built in honor of Lord Buddha. The Venu Vana or The Venu Vana Kalandakanivapa used to be the place or perhaps the greenhouse of King Bimbisara. The place also assists with a pond called Kalandakanivapa, which means the feeding ground of jays.

Venu Van is a historical park located a little away from the center of Rajgir, Bihar. Situated near Rajgir Hot Springs, it is one of the popular historical as well as pilgrimage places to visit in Rajgir.

Venu Vana, literally 'Bamboo Forest', is a historical park associated with Buddha. The park was gifted by the Magadha King Bimbisara to Lord Buddha about 2500 years ago. There is a small pond known as Karandak tank inside the park. The forest was a favorite of Lord Buddha, who used to take a bath in the Karandak tank before going to teach his disciples on Griddhakuta hill.

It is said that Bimbisara once spent a night with Lord Buddha here as he got late after taking a bath in the warm springs nearby and the city gates had closed.

With a small pond in the middle, a lovely Buddha temple, and towering trees lining the trails, this park makes for a peaceful place even today. Excavations in the forest have uncovered the foundations of a room and the bases of nine brick stupas as well as tablets from the 10th-11th century. No doubt when people look for the best things to do in Rajgir, Venu Van ranks at the top.
