Agroha Dham
Agroha Dham is a religious place of Hindus situated in the Agroha of Haryana State. The construction of this complex began in 1976 and was completed in 1984. This temple is dedicated to Hindu Goddess Mahalakshmi and Agrasen Maharaj. Agroha Dham Complex architecture is very beautiful this complexion looks like a palace. At the entrance of the premises, an elephant statue has been installed on both sides of the gate.
Agroha Dham Complex is divided into three main parts. In the center of the premises is the temple of Goddess Mahalaxmi Ji. In the western part of the premises is the temple of goddess Saraswati Ji and in the eastern part of the premises is the temple of Maharaja Agrasen Ji. Three temples are visited by different stairs to go. Which makes the premises feel like a palace.
All the festivals are celebrated in Agroha Dham. The spiritual atmosphere of the temple provides peace to the hearts and minds of the devotees. The Agroha Maha Aquarius Festival is held every year on Sharad Purnima.
History of Agroha Dham
The history of tourism at Agroha Dham is relatively modern despite its ancient roots. The Agroha Mound nearby provides a link to its rich past, with excavations revealing coins, pottery, and other artifacts dating back to as early as 300 BC. The site has been prominently known in the Vaishya and Agrawal communities due to its connection with Maharaja Agrasen. However, it was in the late 20th century that the idea to develop Agroha Dham as a significant destination for spiritual and historical tourism took root.
Efforts to elevate Agroha Dham began in earnest with the establishment of the Agroha Vikas Trust in the 1970s. The Trust has been instrumental in developing the site with modern temples and amenities to cater to the needs of pilgrims. The culmination of their efforts is the majestic Agroha Dham temple complex, which was completed in the late 1980s, with grand consecration ceremonies attracting people from all over the country.
Attractions at Agroha Dham
Today, Agroha Dham boasts of a grand temple complex that includes shrines dedicated to various Hindu deities including Goddess Mahalakshmi and Sita-Rama. The complex is also home to a stunning Shakti Sarovar, a tranquil lake that adds to the serenity of the place.
