Forest Museum
Located near the outskirts of Port Blair, in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, this one-of-a-kind museum showcases the forestry industry and the timber wealth of the islands.
The museum is located within the Chatham Saw Mill complex and is around 10 km away from central Port Blair. The exhibits here include various artifacts and sculptures made from wood from the islands. Various endemic and rare plant species found in the islands are also on showcase here.
The Forest Museum is widely known for its scale models and its assorted display of artifacts and decorative pieces made out of timber, oak, satinwood, gurjan, padauk, and puma. This diverse collection reflects the rich diversity of flora and fauna seen in the forests of the union territory. The museum is also home to its very own mini zoo and zoological garden, housing many species of birds, animals, and endangered plants.
