Suruli Waterfalls
Flowing like a symphony that brings delight to every traveler is the Suruli Waterfalls in the Theni district of Tamilnadu. These famous waterfalls are an essential part of Tamilnadu tourism and are located some 56 km away from Theni which comes under the Theni district. Suruli Waterfalls are also acknowledged in Silappatikaram written by Ilango Adigal which is one of the Five Great Epics that belong to Tamil Literature.
The falls attract travelers for its 2-stage cascade where the medicinal river Suruli starts its journey from the Meghamalai mountain range before reaching the point where the waterfalls descend from in Theni. The falls then drop from a height of 46 m before meeting a pool after which it continues to flow for a short span and spread its beauty. This is followed by the falls drop to another 12 m, a treat to the eyes of travelers in the truest sense.
The months of June to October are considered the best time to visit Suruli Waterfalls and embrace the kind nature. For an even better holiday experience for travelers, changing rooms and showers are set up close to the falls. Besides, one can choose to take a sightseeing tour of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and a bunch of 5 caves that belong to the 11th Century and are a manifestation of Indian rock-cut architecture.
