Samstanling Monastery
Samstanling Monastery located in Sumlur village of Nubra Valley was founded by Lama Tsultim Nima, 140 years ago. It is considered to be an important Buddhist shrine. On the way and around the monastery the landscape is enchanted with the yellow-red trees, vibrant and colorful prayer flags, berry bushes, and golden-grey mountains.
The monastery has two assembly halls, both of which have spectacular murals and paintings of Buddha, Dharma chakra, the four heavenly kings, guardians, and lots of other aspects of Buddhism. The guest house in the monastery is the resident of the 7-year-old incarnation of Lama Bakula Rinpoche, who is a great visionary. The monastery also houses 50 monks.

Samstanling Monastery was founded by Lama Tsultim Nima almost 140 years ago and is home to around 50 monks. There are two assemblies inside the monastery, and both of them are adorned with murals, Buddha paintings, 4 heavenly kings & other guardians.
