​The ‘Ramayana Circuit of India’ - The ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ Ramayana Express

In a bid to promote religious tourism and the Centre’s ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ initiative, the Indian Railways has announced the ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’. This special train offer 16 nights -17 days tour. Passengers of Ramayana Express will visit places related to Lord Rama and Ramayana, it's additionally called the ‘Ramayana Circuit of India.’

As it’s theme-based tourism, the train will have Bhajan-Kirtan available. Also, the train will have branding and interior related to Lord Rama’s life to go with the theme.

Facilities

Shri Ramayana Express will offer pure vegetarian food and accommodation. Apart from that SL Class booking travelers will get wash and change facilities in Dharamshala. Similarly, AC Class booking travelers will get a wash and change facility in hotels. Passengers will get sight-seeing arrangements by non-AC buses. A dedicated tour manager of IRCTC will assist the passengers during the entire tour.

If the train schedule falls during the 'Navratri' festival then the travelers will get meals cooked without onion and garlic. The pantry car will also carry fasting food such as Fruits, Sabudana Khichdi, Curd, and Potato, etc.

Fares

There will be 10 coaches. 5 coaches will be of AC 3 Tier and 5 coaches will be of AC Sleeper Class. As per the media reports, tourists may opt SL Class package at Rs 16,065 per person. On the other hand, the AC Class package will cost Rs 26,775 per person.

If passengers want to visit Sri Lanka then they will have to pay extra. Travelers can take a flight from Chennai to Colombo. The 5 nights and 6 days package in Sri Lanka will cost Rs 37,800 per person.

The prices are all-inclusive. It includes train tickets, food expenses, transportation via non-ac buses at all destinations. It also covers travel insurance. The Ramayan Express is not only a train. But it is a whole traveling package that will highlight the life of great Lord Ram.
