Starfish Movie Review : Khushalii Kumar’s film is beautifully shot but it needs to dig deeper

Based on a book named Starfish Pickle by Bina Nayak, Khushalii Kumar's starrer finally hit the big screens on November 24. So, is this traumatic romantic thriller worth a watch? Well…

Starfish Movie: Plot

The film revolves around Tara (Khushalii Kumar), a scuba diver suffering from panic attacks and mental stress because of her disturbed past. Stuck in a love triangle between Aman (Tusharr Khanna) and Neil (Ehan Bhat), Tara's messed up love life and trauma of the past take viewers on a rather intriguing tale. While the film starts off well, it loses its grip in between, but it does somehow manage to pick up pace again.

Starfish Movie: Screenplay, Cinematography and Editing

Starfish's script wasn't bad; however, a tighter narration would have done wonders for the film. Though we enjoyed the cinematography, particularly the underwater scenes, the editing is the film's weakest point. One such example is how the film jumps from one scene to another without any continuation. As for Starfish's background score and songs, they do elevate the film.

Starfish Movie: Performances

Khushalii Kumar's performance throughout the film is inconsistent. While she did deliver some emotional scenes well, many of her other dialogues seemed robotic. The same goes for Ehan Bhat and Tusharr Khanna. Honestly, Milind Soman was the best actor among the film's four leading stars

Starfish Movie: Conclusion

Although Starfish had the potential to be a great film, subpar performances and weak editing hindered its success.
